Sheemahant Conservancy
Sheemahant Conservancy is located on the Central Coast in the traditional territory of the Wui'kinuxv Nation. The conservancy was created in 2007 and covers 1,018 hectares.
Sheemahant Conservancy
Sheemahant Conservancy was established as part of the government’s land use decision for the Central Coast planning area.
Located near the northeast end of Owikeno Lake, this conservancy protects a unique freshwater delta and wetland complex. The area receives heavy use by grizzly bears and sockeye salmon spawn in the narrows of Owikeno Lake. The area is of high cultural importance to First Nations.
