In early June 2018, the Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government opened the doors of the newly-renovated Vetter Falls Lodge, inviting visitors to share the natural beauty and cultural resources of the Nass Valley.

Located in the heart of the Anhluut’ukwsim Laxmihl Angwinga’asa’anskwhl (Nisg̱a’a Memorial Lava Bed Park), the lodge was purchased by the Nisg̱a’a Nation to support the growth of its tourism industry.

The lodge is centrally located in the Nass Valley, 90 kilometres north of Terrace, and is within a large natural forest near Ts’itksim Aks (Vetter Falls).  Accessed from the Nisg̱a’a Highway #113, just before reaching the Nisg̱a’a Village of Gitlaxt’aamiks, Vetter Falls Lodge is in close proximity to the Nisg̱a’a Visitor Center as well as the Nisg̱a’a Museum in Laxgalts’ap.

It is ideally positioned along the Nisg̱a’a Highway’s auto-tour route, a well-marked route that takes visitors to culturally significant stops, all within an easy walk of the Nisg̱a’a highway. Learn more about Nisg̱a’a Lisims cultural tourism initiatives here.

Vetter Falls Lodge is a bed and breakfast style accommodation and is wholly owned by the Nisg̱a’a Nation. The property hosts a main lodge and one smaller cabin. Four double occupancy rooms are available in the main lodge, while the cabin has a loft and 2 double occupancy rooms. The lodge also offers mountain bike and kayak rentals.

The operations are managed by Randy and Melanie Chalifoux of MRC Ventures who invite visitors, even if they’re not staying at the lodge, to stop in and enjoy a meal:
