Following the announcement of the Great Bear Sea PFP, Coast Funds is growing its team to deliver new financing and services for First Nations.
Coast Funds is hiring for two roles – Economic Development Analyst and Stewardship Funding Specialist – to support our team in delivering financial administration and project support services, highlighting the impact of First Nations’ conservation and economic investments in their respective territories.

Economic Development Analyst
The Economic Development Analyst will be an important member of a highly collaborative team that serves 29 First Nations on the coast of modern-day British Columbia. Our ideal candidate has financial and risk analysis skills, research and analysis skills, is a problem solver and critical thinker, and has strong relationship and partner building skills with clients, staff, and other stakeholders.

Location | Our offices are in downtown Vancouver, BC and most employees work a hybrid office/remote schedule. Some travel to coastal communities will be required. |
Salary range | $62,000 to 72,000/year, depending on experience |

Stewardship Funding Specialist
The Stewardship Funding Specialist will be an important member of a highly collaborative team that serves 29 First Nations on the coast of modern-day British Columbia. Our ideal candidate has strong relationship building skills, demonstrated project or program management experience, research and analysis skills, and is a problem solver and critical thinker who exhibits curiosity.

The Opportunity
For both the Economic Development Analyst and Stewardship Funding Specialist roles, you’ll work within a collaborative team that supports the capacity of the Nations Coast Funds serves by ensuring the effective, high-trust administration of funding.
Acting as a primary resource, these roles provide guidance on funding availability from the respective funding pools and other opportunities while tracking project outcomes in line Coast Fund’s well-being methodology. About Coast Funds
Coast Funds is an Indigenous-led conservation finance organization that supports First Nations to invest in sustainable economic development and ecological stewardship within their traditional territories.
Coast Funds was created in 2007, as an outcome of the Great Bear Rainforest agreements, to manage funds for First Nations’ stewardship and economic priorities in the Great Bear Rainforest and Haida Gwaii. In 2024, First Nations worked with Coast Funds and other partners to secure new funding, through the Great Bear Sea PFP, for marine stewardship and community development. Today, the organization manages stewardship endowments and economic funds, which are allocated between participating First Nations. Coast Funds also provides financial administration services to First Nations and their partners.
To date, Coast Funds has delivered $120 million for over 450 Indigenous-led conservation, economic development, and sustainable energy projects. With these investments, First Nations are strengthening coastal communities, diversifying local economies, and stewarding lands, waters, and life.
